Paddle Paws was born from that experience. The photos I have of Padfoot and Shiva are treasures, and I want every pet owner to walk away with something just as meaningful. I believe every pet has a story worth telling, and I’m here to help you create memories that last, whether through action shots, peaceful portraits, or anything in between.

Today, Paddle Paws is a team effort. My husband, Mike, now works with me full-time, assisting on shoots and supporting everything behind the scenes. While I’m behind the lens and crafting the handmade details, he helps bring each session to life, keeping tails wagging and everything running smoothly.

This is our passion, and we’re honored to share it with you. Every pet, every client, and every moment matters. We’re here to make sure your memories are captured with the care and love they deserve.

Photography has been a passion of mine since high school. I’ve spent years capturing the beauty of nature, people, and most of all, my pets. But when I brought Padfoot into my life, my love for photographing dogs truly blossomed. Whether he was splashing in the water, chasing his favorite frisbee, or simply enjoying the world around him, I loved capturing his spirit through my lens. Along the way, we also welcomed Shiva, another German Shepherd, and photographing them together became one of my greatest joys.

About Paddle Paws

At Paddle Paws, every photoshoot is more than just a session; it’s a celebration of the deep bond we share with our pets — a bond that goes beyond words.

Life took a heartbreaking turn when Padfoot was diagnosed with cancer just after we moved to Duluth. I had so many plans for capturing memories of him and Shiva together in the beautiful landscapes of our new home. But before I could, Padfoot passed away at only seven years old. All I have left are the photos — snapshots of his happiness, his calm, and his love. I’m beyond grateful for every image and every memory I was able to capture. While I wish I had more photos of us together, the ones I do have hold immeasurable value.

That’s why I started Paddle Paws. I want to offer pet owners the chance to have beautiful, timeless photos of their pets — images that capture not just how they look, but the connection you share. I want to help preserve those special moments, whether it’s your pet’s playful side, a quiet time together, or the joy of simply being close.
